If you like writing flash fiction, you will love Six Sentences (or 6S) and the associated 6S Social Network. The Six Sentences site poses the question, What can you say in six sentences? and then invites you to make submissions.
I've made three submissions so far: one was rejected for the main site, but the 6S editor suggested I posted it on the 6S Social Network. I'm waiting to hear the fate of the other two.
Although at first I was sceptical about joining 'another social network', after joining up and browsing the network I felt confident enough to post my first submission, Dreams of Immortality. I've received some great feedback and will be posting some more flash fiction in the future.
A word of warning - don't forget most publications and competitions consider work to be 'published' if it is available online.
