When I sat down to read the comments on my first A to Z post last night, I realised I'd passed the 300 followers mark. As with my 100th and 200th milestones, I intend to celebrate 300 followers with a competition.
Here are the prizes, which come in two parts:
1. If you comment on this post by midnight Sunday 10th April (GMT) you will be entered into a prize draw for one of three $15 (£10) Amazon vouchers.
2. If you comment on this post by midnight Saturday 30th April you will be in with a chance of winning a grand prize of a $40 (£30) Amazon voucher. Everyone who has commented on this post will be entered into the grand prize draw.
The only rules are you a) must be a follower and b) you must comment on this post.
I'm not asking people to tweet or blog about my competitions for extra points, but I would really appreciate it if you did. It's not that I don't agree with blatant self-promotion, it's just I'd never keep track of whose done what. As my motto says, keep it simple.

Curious, and not especially intending to sound sour, but what difference does having 300 or 400 followers make? The gratifying thing is surely when those who DO follow, genuinely, do so because of what they read here?

I think KISS is a good technique. In my case my writing is short but I tend to put a lot of photos.

I hit my 200 mark this weekend and I was jumping for joy. I am going to be doing a contest just for that....and the fact that I am having my wisdom teeth pulled. Thought it sounded like a good theme for a giveaway...books dealing with teeth.

Congrats on 300 + followers! I've actually blacked my figure total: it's not something I worry about nor want to get competitive over. Like OMG, I must wrack up the score. As it is, I've got one or two people who've never left a comment.
I'm also thinking for my next blogfest of putting a limit on how many people can sign up for it. Too many participants and it becomes impossible to get round to everyone. Not only, that, it evens out the chances for other blogfest hosts to acquire more sign ups. I've seen blogfests with 40+ and others with merely 12 entries, a few with as little as four or five. I'm a great believer in sharing the system and sharing the love! ;) Hee hee, probably no one will sign up now, just to teach me a lesson in not rocking boats!

I so agree, Ellie! You young whippersnappers take to this high-tech stuff like it's just another breath of air, but for us old-timers, it's a job to navigate through all the different rules -- so, I cop out and only join the less involved. Now, if the prize were somewhere above the $50,000 mark, I'd focus!

Wow 300 followers is a whole load, impressive. But, as a newbie, after only a couple of posts I can sure see why you've got that many and the number keeps on rising.
Hitting 300 followers is quite an accomplishment. From the looks of it, you'll be at 400 in no time. As they say around here, it's the snowball effect.
