Good Geek! (A to Z = G)

Can you believe we're on week two of the A to Z Challenge already? Have you been having a blast? I know I have. But it also occured to me this morning that there will so many incredible posts I won't see because of the number of bloggers taking part. That thought made me a little sad.

Now, on to this week's Friday Five and geeks.

My friends, I will let you in on a little secret - at school I was a geek. Now my family would probably argue I still am a geek and that's okay, but on the geekiness scale I scored far higher at school.

Below are five pieces of geek-proving evidence. One of them is a lie. Can you guess which one?

1. I was in Q maths at secondary school. Q maths was for students with exceptional mathematical ability.

2. My best friend and I preferred knitting to going out.

3. My first crush was on James T. Kirk.

4. I once made a model of the Starship Enterprise with cardboard and stickyback plastic.

5. I learnt how to draw a model of a nuclear reactor in case it came up in my physics exam.

So, which is the lie?

Don't forget to enter my 300 Followers Competition.

From one geek to another, I hope it is number 2! I am having a blast as well and actually I am a bit sad this competition is going so fast.

I'm going to guess that 4 is the lie. I know I should say 3, but there is something about Shatner. . .

I say 3 is a lie. I think there was typo in the bible, it should have said The geeks shall inherit the earth.

Steven Chapman - I'm hanging my head in shame because the missing S was a typo. You can stay with your guess or change it if you want. Hehehehe.

ha! I'm guessing number three :o) PS: Adore that DOLL!!!! I want one!

Jason Shaw said...

Ohh my word, it has to be the knitting one, you seem far too much fun to want to stay in knitting when you were younger! Or maybe that just the rouse you wants us to think.... Hmmm I'm muddled now.

Er... no.4? You'd have made a model enterprise out of aluminium, metal, glass and a combustion engine!! While knitting!! Yay! take care

This is hard! Maybe #5, but just because the first 4 seem plausible.
I know what you mean about not getting to everyone's blog. For me, it's because I've already found new daily favorites and you're one of them!

One of these things is not like the others,
one of these things, doesn't belong

Happy G day.

OMGosh, I hope none of them is the lie.

A total guess: Number Five.

I think #3 ... I bet your first crush was on some cute little 5th grader! I know what you mean about A-Z; it's success makes it harder in other ways.

I'm guessing the lie is #1.

At least I hope it is because math is horrible - my #1 enemy for life - and any friend of my enemy is... well... (Think I'll stop commenting now.)

I would guess the crush on Kirk is the lie. Any geek worth their salt had a crush on Spock!

Janel said...

Well, I'm a knitter, so I'm going with #5! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've missed talking to you, but it looks like you're keeping busy with the A - Z posts. :)

Susan Oloier said...

Oh, these are so fun. I am going to say #2--knitting. Don't know why. Maybe b/c it seems so out of place with Star Trek and math.

Jonathon Arntson said...

I think it has to be #5...yup...wait...yeah, that's it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I appreciate it!

Visiting from the A-Z challenge and it looks like I came in at the right time! My guess is #2, knitting. Was it really crocheting?! :)

As a fellow geek, I'm guessing the knitting one!

Lucy Adams said...

I'm ging with #5.

As for the Star Trek references, Vulcans came up in conversation with my children the other day. None of them, not one of the four, knew what a Vulcan is or has ever heard of Mr. Spock. It doesn't speak well for my parenting skills, but the fact that I was apalled probably means I've been a geek, too, somewhere along the way.

I too feel like #2 doesn't go. I think you and your best friend went out looking for geek guys. In the words of a great Vulcan, "It's logical."
