Apologies, Changes, and 2012

It's been over four months since my last blog post and I need to offer sincere apologies to all my writing friends and blog followers. Several of you emailed and phoned, and I was a bad friend in not replying. Thank you all for caring so much; I will be emailing and/or phoning you all over the next few days.

The last three months of 2011 did not go the way I had planned. Although I completed detailed plot notes and wrote the first act of my YA science fiction novel, there were major changes going on in my personal life. I am saddened to say Mr. G and I have separated. It is an amicable split but I am currently living with my parents, so life has radically changed for me. I am on holiday for the first two weeks in February, and I am planning to use that time to get back into my writing and blogging.

In the meantime, I hope you are all well and following your writing dreams. I will be catching up with all your blogs over my two week holiday. I am sure there is much I have missed and I'm excited to see what life has been like for you all over the last four months.

Let me know what you've been up to, and not just with your writing.

  8. Oh Ellie!!! When I saw your blog post update on my dashboard - I thought - Yayayyayayy!! Ellie's back!!! I wasn't prepared for your news. Oh Ellie!! What a cathartic time for you. I'm just glad you are ok and coping and surviving (you are right!?!)Hey you are a Cancer - like me!! - and we cope and survive like no other!! :-) The tough crabby outer shell grows another layer or ten because the soft insides are so so so vulnerable and need protecting and sheltering even more so when under duress. And that's what we do!

Big crabby hugs from me! Welcome back!!!

Erm.. as to my progress with life.. erm.. not much really! LOL!

    Take care

  11. Life has a way of throwing sucker punches when you least expect it. But you're still standing and that's a good thing.

Please email me if you need a sounding board. And be sure to get enough sleep. Emotional trauma takes a lot out of you and you've had more than your share.

Hugs, sweetie. Everything's going to be fine.

I just recently came back from a 6 month hiatus- I finished my WIP, wrote my query and synopsis, compiled my agents and now am ready to query starting in Feb possibly...I also started a new WIP that I'm very excited about. Thinking of you and the best of luck in your transition period right now.

  32. often, splits are the pits, but good you remain friendly... still, never easy...

year of the dragon is supposed to bring more positives than negatives, so hope remains

i'm still in a funk from having moved from the east coast to southern ontario; not from the move, rather concerns i need not go into

i did get me a dog within weeks of the move, that's already a positive

more stuff i should be doing... mayhap by spring...

    welcome back, ellie :)
