Tumble 4 Ya Blogfest

Whilst reading Alex J. Cavanaugh blog today, I stumbled upon this little gem and could not resist.

Hosted by Nicki Elson, Suze, and M. Pax.

So, who was my 80s celebrity crush?

In one word. Bowie. There really could have been no other answer. Modern Love. Lets Dance. China Girl. Bowie romping naked in the sea at the end of the China Girl video. I need say no more. Take it away, David.

  4. That was one of those music videos that captivated me as a kid. What's interesting is that all three songs you listed are all so completely different.

Modern Love has a little Motown to it. Lets Dance is a cool, smooth song with some horns for power, and China Girl...well...it's just awesome.

  7. In the 80s, I was a young mother trying to make it through each day. Tom Selleck was a constant source of comfort.

  12. I'm a bit too old for an 80s crush, I was happily married and had two young dhildren then. My era was Marrianne Faithful and Sandy Shaw. But I have evry Bowie album (Album? also showing my age) including his first release as David Jones.
You have good taste, but I never fancied him I don't swing that way.

  13. Very early in Bowie's career he was a lot like a male Lady Gaga. All about shock and show. He definitely changed for the better! :)

  14. Hi Ellie. Glad to see you back again. Did you know several bloggers were concerned at your absence and quite worried about you. When I saw your comment on Donna's blog I came right over and see it's business as usual. Glad all is okay.

Bowie is a timeless performer. Still at it. Good choice.
