River Fairchild Cover Reveal & Realms Faire

Today I've got an exciting cover reveal to bring you - Diamonds and Dust by River Fairchild. Isn't it stunning?

Magic is real. So is betrayal.
Two heirs. A Kingdom of dust on a troubled world. One might resurrect it. One might destroy it all.
Archaeologist David Alexander investigates the cave where his father disappeared and hurtles into another world, one filled with magic and bizarre creatures. The mad ravings in his father's journals of icemen and dragons may not be fantasies after all.
Convinced his father may still be alive, David begins a treacherous journey to find him and discover a way home. Along the way, he encounters a few unlikely friends. A Dreean warrior, a beautiful thief and a satyr join him as he searches.
David's arrival into this new world sets off an explosive chain reaction of events. Faced with powerful adversaries and few clues, he may not get the chance to rescue his father before disaster strikes, condemning both of them to death. Or worse.

Now on to other news.

Oh hear ye. Oh hear ye! Realms Faire starts one week today!

In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, Realms Faire is an annual event packed full of fun competitions and awesome prizes, hosted by science fiction and fantasy author Mary Pax. This year several Untethered Realms members and others, including myself, have got together to help Mary make this the event of the year.

This year's events include a Jousting Tournament, Masquerade Parade, Collective Stage Performance, Dragon Hunt, The Stockade Brigade, Castle Jumble, Drench-a-Wench & Soak-a-Bloke, Phasers, and Dueling Bards.

At the beginning of and during the week, I'll be posting about each event in more detail. I'll also be letting you know how you can take part and win fabulous prizes, including a Kindle. If you want to learn more now, click here or visit the Untethered Realms website.

I'll be back on Wednesday, when this week's Speculative Fiction Writer guests are Mark and Kim Todd. Until then, happy reading and writing.
