Sexy Geeks in Space & Giveaway

Today I have friend and talented writer, Christine Rains stopping by for her Loose Corset Blog Tour. She's talking sexy geeks in space. What's not to like?

SEXY GEEKS IN SPACE

By Christine Rains

With science-fiction movies and TV shows, the daring and hot hero or heroine gets all the attention. Like gorgeous Chris Pratt as Peter dancing in Guardians of the Galaxy or hot Katee Sackhoff as kick-butt Kara Thrace in Battlestar Galactica. Yet who built their spaceships and gadgets? Who discovered how to travel through wormholes?

Space geeks, of course! They don't get nearly enough credit, and they're overshadowed by their reckless shipmates, but these nerds, they're sexy too.

1) Vulcans (Star Trek universe). Big brains and elven ears. Totally geeky! You usually see Vulcans as science officers, and they're not given enough credit for how much they put up with from all those overly emotional races. I believe the Federation would fall apart with them. My two favorites: T'Pol (Jolene Blalcok from Enterprise) and Spock (take your pick: Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto).

2) Carl Jenkins (Neil Patrick Harris) in Starship Troopers. One of the geniuses who helped with the brain bugs. The marines might go in there and kick bug butt, but the enemy keeps coming. It's up to the nerds to find a way to win the war.

3) Dr. David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) in Independence Day. Will Smith was the star of the film, but the geek saved the world. Wait... did I just spoil it for you?

4) Kaylee Frye (Jewel Staite) in Firefly. You might argue Kaylee wasn't a geek, but take a look at the evidence. She's the ship's mechanic. That takes brains, and she came to it intuitively. She's socially awkward and has self-esteem problems. Oh yes, she's cute, but it's hard to shine when on the same ship with Zoe and Inara.

5) Most of the cast from Galaxy Quest. It was a nerds in space movie made for nerds, and we love it! Alien geeks, super fans, and interspecies love. Now I want to watch the film again.

Who are your favorite space geeks?

Blurb:

Dice and Debauchery, Book 1

A weekend away at a convention is exactly what overworked student Morgan needs. Dressed as her character from her favorite online game, Morgan is braced—seriously, could her corset be tighter?—to meet the other players. As Lady Gyrfalcon, she’s ready for everything—except her intense attraction to Dean. A clandestine meeting in the hallway of the hotel and Morgan’s corset is looser but now she can’t breathe for entirely different reasons.

Utterly charmed, Morgan decides to roll the dice and indulge in a fantasy-worthy weekend of sexy roleplaying, scorching sex and life-altering orgasms. Still, through it all Morgan is too smart to believe the chemistry constantly stripping her of costumes and control can last more than the length of the convention. But if she wants to keep a relationship so intense she thought it only existed in fiction, she’s going to have to let go of her cool-headed logic and allow herself to fall far and fast for the perfect guy.

    1. He was! I liked when he married Dax. I liked her so much better with him than Deanna.

  8. Barbraella has got to be the sexiest girl who ever took off her spacesuit. Probably would not think of her as a geek now. Until Barbraella , the geek girl had to be plain and wore big glasses and a white lab coat. Of course, once she takes her glasses off, surprise surprise! 'Why Miss Jones, you are beautiful.' Barbraella was in control, knew her stuff and was sexy right from the start.

  9. I really need to see Firefly someday. It seems to get nothing but praise!

As far as space geeks go, I'm partial to the ones from Greasy Space Monkeys, I must admit. It's a really fun webcomic! :)
